Ideophone Records and Bergen Kunsthall presents a live program with two electronic, experimental artists who deconstruct and dive deeply into drum and bass, Friday 2 October at Landmark.

Join us for an evening with experimental electronics, bass-heavy sound, intricate rhythms, drone, noise and deep atmospheric spaces featuring the artists Lemna and O.M. Theorem.

LEMNA (JP) - FROM THE CAVE

Japanese artist Maiko Okimoto, aka Lemna, moves between experimental electronics, techno, ambient and intricate rhythmic structures.

Her background stretches from classical piano and sound engineering to Tokyo’s drum & bass scene. Since debuting Lemna live at Berlin Atonal in 2017, she has approached each performance as something unique to that particular moment, creating newly written material rather than relying on a fixed live set.

For her Bergen debut, Lemna presents From The Cave, a new live work inspired by the significance of caves in traditional Japanese mountain worship - places associated with spirits, passage into another world, and symbolic death and rebirth.

Moving through experimental drone, techno, rhythmic passages and textured noise, the piece takes the listener on a journey from darkness and the subconscious towards an eventual emergence into light.

We’re very happy to welcome Lemna to Bergen for her first appearance with Ideophone.

O.M.THEOREM (NO)

O.M.Theorem is the project of Bergen-based producer and live artist Tobias Mikkelsen, exploring the spaces between bass-heavy soundsystem music, dub and intricate polyrhythmic structures.

Working directly through a mixing desk, his live sets use dub techniques to reshape the music in real time, moving fluidly across tempos and between dub, techno, footwork, jungle and drum & bass territory.

Through his own O.M.Theorem label, Tobias has built a strong catalogue of releases, including the Lemma series, Corollary1 with reinterpretations by DJ Sotofett and Ossia, and his 2025 debut album Eruption. A new release is currently on the way.

Alongside Aarti Kriplani, Tobias is also behind Dub & Dal, a Bergen-born project bringing together soundsystem culture, bass music, food and community.

For this night at Landmark, O.M.Theorem returns in live form - heavy on bass, polyrhythms and shifting tempos.

IDEOPHONE x BERGEN KUNSTHALL

Ideophone is a Bergen-based record label and concert and club series dedicated to adventurous electronic music, bringing together local and international artists across experimental electronics, leftfield club music and live performance.

For this edition, we’re joining forces with Bergen Kunsthall and Landmark to present a different side of the Ideophone program, shifting the focus from the dancefloor towards two full live performances.

We want everyone to feel welcome at our events. Please respect personal boundaries and the people around you. Harassment, discrimination or unwanted behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.
