I 1973 vakte The Secret Life of Plants internasjonale oppmerksomhet som bok, og senere også film – et kultfenomen som utfordret forestillinger om planter som passive livsformer, og som siden har levd videre i både populærkultur og kunstnerisk praksis.

I forbindelse med utstillingen Iter Subterraneum inviterer vi til en tematisk middag som henter inspirasjon fra både The Secret Life of Plants, Ludvig Holbergs Nils Klims reise til den underjordiske verden og utvalgte verk i utstillingen. Menyen er utviklet av forfatter Andreas Liebe Delsett i tett samarbeid med Landmark, med utgangspunkt i sopp- og planteriket. Både kjøkken og bar har fått rom til å arbeide fritt og kreativt med utstillings-tematikk.

Stevie Wonders dobbeltalbum Journey Through The Secret Life of Plants, komponert i forbindelse med filmatiseringen av boken, danner et musikalsk bakteppe for kvelden.

Det er mulig å kombinere middagen med å overvære Ingela Ihrmans performance inne i utstillingen som vil være langåpen for anledningen. Kvelden på Landmark inkluderer også et musikalsk innslag med Mari Kvien Brunvoll og Stein Urheim.

In 1973, The Secret Life of Plants attracted international attention as a book and later as a film—becoming a cult phenomenon that challenged the idea of plants as passive life forms and has since continued to resonate across popular culture and artistic practice.

In connection with the exhibition Iter Subterraneum, we invite you to a thematic dinner inspired by The Secret Life of Plants, Ludvig Holberg’s Niels Klim’s Journey to the World Underground, and selected works from the exhibition. The menu is developed by author Andreas Liebe Delsett in close collaboration with Landmark, taking the fungi and plant kingdom as its point of departure. Both the kitchen and the bar have been given room to work freely and creatively with the exhibition’s thematic framework.

Stevie Wonder’s double album Journey Through The Secret Life of Plants, composed in connection with the film adaptation of the book, forms a musical backdrop for the evening.

It is possible to combine the dinner with attending Ingela Ihrman’s performance in the exhibition, which will remain open late for the occasion. The evening at Landmark also includes a musical contribution by Mari Kvien Brunvoll and Stein Urheim.
