About the music :

In traditional Japanese mountain worship, caves have been sanctified as special places where spirits dwell.

Sometimes, they are considered entrances to another world, or passing through them is seen as a spiritual act symbolizing a simulated death and rebirth.

"From The Cave” depicts the recollection of old memories and the process of purification from chaos, through a story of waking up in a dark cave, a metaphor for the realm of the subconscious, until heading for its exit while overcoming obstacles represented by the five hindrances of Buddhism: Vicikicchā (Doubt), Uddhacca-Kukkucca (Restlessness-Worry), Thina-Middha (Sloth-Torpor), Vyāpāda (Ill-Will), and Kāmacchanda (Sensual Desire).

*Musically, it is not strictly 'ambient', but rather an experimental drone/techno-style set with some rhythmic beats and noise textures (closer in atmosphere to my past set 'Dusk').

About the project :

It is estimated that nearly half of the human brain is involved in visual processing, and at least 80% of information is obtained through the sense of sight, which means we rely far more on vision than on our other senses.

Especially in this day and age, the world is overflowing with a constant barrage of bright lights and visual information, which has gradually numbed our natural intuition.

In exchange for overcoming the fear of the dark and obtaining convenience, we have lost something.

It is a deep and rich sensitivity, namely a well-honed outward-directed perception that can catch even the slightest sign of presence, and an inward-directed altered consciousness stemming from deep introspection and imagination triggered by darkness and isolation.

Through this show, I would like the audience to recall what we used to feel, find, and were given in the darkness.

Requests:

"From The Cave” explores the theme of providing the audience with a deeply introspective and ritualistic experience at a subconscious level through music.

In live performance, I've always felt it a pity that the audience tends to stare at the gears and have more interest in the technical side than in the energy of music.

I would like people to deeply immerse themselves in sound, focusing solely on music, rather than on performers or equipment, which has been my greatest wish since the very beginning.

During the show, I would like the audience to sit comfortably on the floor, allowing them to go deep into music and within themselves while sharpening their senses in the dark (or in dim light), without any flashy stage lighting or visual effects.

I will bring some small LED tea light candles to place around my equipment, so if the lighting is sufficient with those, I would like to perform using only the candlelight.
